I Should Say Yes
I fell in love with the most beautiful butterfly in the world. It took me years to get her to finally go on a date with me. Being her best friend's older brother wasn’t a problem; it was my reputation that had her avoiding me at every turn.
But I persevered. I knew that beneath my player façade was a heart that beat only for her. I begged and begged until she finally said yes. That moment felt like the universe had finally listened to my silent prayers.
The early days were pure magic. We laughed, we dreamed, and spent every spare moment within each other’s embrace. Every glance, every touch was a testimony to the love that had grown between us. Her smile was my light, guiding me through the darkest of days.
Until I fucked up!
I made a stupid mistake. I listened to the wrong people. Took the wrong advice and soon the cracks began to show, subtle at first, then widening into vast chasms that we couldn't bridge. Misunderstandings and insecurities crept into our lives. I tried to hold on, to mend what was broken, but the weight of my past and the pressures of the present, was just too much.
Our laughter turned to bitter arguments. The dreams we once shared became sources of contention, and the life we had built felt like a prison. The butterfly that had once flitted so beautifully in my life seemed to be slipping away, and no amount of perseverance could change that.
Then she ended it for good, and my heart broke into a million pieces. I swore that day I would win her back, whatever the cost.
My life is nothing without her in it.
I will make her mine again and this time, it’s for keeps.
